sup genTESTIMONY - Fr. Philipp Renczes SJ, Director of the Cardinal Bea Centre for Judaic Studies, Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome

Father Philipp Renczes is professor in systematic theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. Since 2011, Father Philipp has been the director of the Cardinal Bea Centre for Judaic Studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.  The list of his many publications reveals a specialization in patristic scholarship as well as a deep and abiding interest in the Catholic-Jewish relationship. Fr Philipp will share with us today on how he sees the progress made in the relationship, his vision for the future and how the next generation can be prepared for the future.

Dr. Ruth Dureghello, President of the Jewish Community in Rome

Ruth Durighello is the President of the Jewish Community in Rome.  She was elected in 2015 and was the first woman to have held this important position in the Jewish community.  Ruth has already demonstrated a commitment to interreligious dialogue and in particular between the Catholic Church and the Jewish people.   She welcomed Pope Francis when he visited the Synagogue in January 2016 with words which demonstrate a sensitivity and openness to dialogue between the two communities.  Indeed Ruth believes in the necessity of dialogue and she is going to share with us how she experiences dialogue with Catholics and what her hopes are for the future.
