"Priesthood in Religious Life: Searching for New Ways Forward"

April 6th - 7th, 2017

Endowed Chair for the Social Scientific Study of Religion at the University of St. Thomas; Former Director of Planning and Registrar Coordinator of the Lilly Endowment Study of "The Futures of Catholic Theologates"; Former Professor at the College of St. Teresa

Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at Catholic Theological Union; Former First Consultor for the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ (St. Paul of the Cross Province)

The last several decades after Vatican II have seen the rise of a new consciousness of priestly identity within priests who are members of congregations of consecrated life. 

This conference will explore what is distinctive about the way religious live out their priestly ministry:

  • as members of a distinct community
  • with distinct charisms
  • according to particular vows or promises

Cost: Registration is free, with an optional $15 fee that includes lunch on the second day of the conference

Arrival: Thursday, April 6th, 2017 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Departure: After Closing Liturgy on Friday, April 7th, 2017 at 5 p.m.
